After rounding off the first half of the season with two very good wins, the Krushers crashed back to earth on Saturday against Williamstown at a soggy Fearon Reserve. A shocker of a first half by Oakleigh effectively gifted Williamstown the match as Oakleigh failed to score a goal before the half-time interval whilst Williamstown ran the Oaks ragged booting 10-10 to Oakleighs meagre 4 behinds.

The Oaks did improve in the third term booting 3 goals to match their hosts return for the quarter and then outplayed the CYMS in the last quarter kicking 6 goals to 2 to cut the final margin to 40 points. Tim Scott and Stuart Wines led the goal kicking for Oakleigh with 3 each, Gary Bennett, Dermot Cleary and Pat Ioannidis were in the best players.

In the early game, the Krushers tried hard but couldn’t keep pace with Williamstown who led at every change gradually extending their lead to finish 41 points ahead of a game Oakleigh. Josh Abela booted 3 goals for Oakleigh with Jake Benoiton adding 2, Clint Pinney, Luke Pappon and Zac Thiessens were in the Krushers best.

The U/19s travelled to the vast expanses of Latrobe Uni and struggled again due to a lack of numbers but still fought the game out failing by 37 points at games end. Brodie Weymouth kicked 3 goals for Oakleigh with Lucas Cloke adding 2, Jake Ford, Corey Moore and Mina Farid were in the best players.
